“All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently
opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.” -Arthur Schopenhauer, German
When the American Heart Association’s recommendation against coconut oil came out
last year, I wasn’t surprised. This is the same organization that still promotes
low-fat diet and rancid polyunsaturated fat even after Time magazine debunked the
whole myth in June 2014 article, “Ending the War on Fat.”
What I was surprised with is many people, including some of my patients, actually
accepted the recommendation and stopped eating coconut oil. AHHHHH.
There are many dietary recommendations out there that are not based on science or
purely wrong. It usually takes some time (sometimes decades) for these wrong recommendations
to disappear, and it is only you who can protect yourself by keep learning.
Because we eat at least a few times a day, and if your diet is lacking key nutrients
or causing small imbalances, your body will suffer tremendously in a long run.
Please join me during the nutrition bootcamp to build a strong foundation, and I
will look forward to seeing you.
